Min Adab al-Islam (Islamic Manners) Series

Throughout the month of Ramadhan, there will be a brief daily Dars with Shaykh Sufyaan covering the renowned book, Min Adab al-Islam by the late Shaykh 'Abd al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah (Rahmatullahi alayhi), which discusses essential adab (manners) in detail.

We are hosting a night long Qiyaam-ul-layl event in preparation for the Holy month of Ramadhan.

The programme is open to all over the age of 15, and will start after Asr Salah (7.30pm) on Friday 29th June.

There will be reminders by Shaykh Sufyaan Iqbal, Tafseer as normal after Maghrib,  tajweed circles and more.

Shaykh Sufyaan, Qari Tariq and Hafiz Khalil will be performing the Qiyaam.

Meals and snacks will be provided.

This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Preparation for Ramadhan bayaan this Sunday at 12.00-1.00pm with Shaykh Sufyaan.

 

Alhumdulillah, we are now able to accommodate for sisters who wish to attend (please use the entrance at 70 Connaught Road). 

 

If possible, please leave young children at home, however, there will be an empty room adjacent to the sister's hall, to feed or attend to your children.

We are all aware of the faraa'idh of salaat, but there are many sunan of salaat that we should also be aware of, and bring into practice.

Jumuah bayaan will be in English and will start at 1.20pm promptly InshaAllah.

Etiquettes of Jumuah

Sunan of the day of Jumuah -

Preparation after Fajr

• Perform Ghusl.
• Remove unwanted hair and clip the nails.
• Clean the mouth with Miswak.
• Wear your best clothes (white).
• Apply perfume.
• Engage in excessive Salawaat (Durood upon the Messenger Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam).
• Recite Surat Al-Kahf (18).

Upon arriving at the masjid

• Arrive early, give some Sadaqah or Lillah and perform 2 raka'aat Tahiyyatul-masjid.
• Make space for your fellow brother.
• Listen attentively to the bayaan and Khutbah, whether you understand it or not.
• Engage in Du'a during Khutbah.
• Engage in Du'a between Asr and Maghrib.

New Transmitter System

In a couple of weeks InshaAllah a new transmitter system will be fitted at Masjid-e-Umar. All Adhans, bayaans and Islamic lectures will be transmitted into the local homes.

New Imaam at Masjid-e-Umar

As of 2 weeks ago, Masjid-e-Umar was very fortunate to acquire the services of Sheikh Sufyaan Iqbal (@Arrawaasi). He will be the lead Imaam at the masjid. We wish him every success.
